You hear it on the news; it's written in magazines and newspaper articles: stress can make physical problems worse. Stress can exacerbate heart conditions, bring on strokes, or even cause panic or anxiety attacks for some people that are temporarily debilitating. While these health concerns are certainly something to be aware of, these are extremes and most people will not have a heart attack or suffer a stroke in their lifetime.

However, everyone experiences stress, and stress can cause physical issues in your skin as well. These are, of course, less dramatic or worrisome than some of the dangerous physical issues mentioned above, but for many people who try their best to look good, stress could be undermining their efforts.

Stress can cause skin to lose some of its moisture, which makes it look thin and dry, and can actually weaken skin to the point of it being more vulnerable to tearing and damage. You've probably noticed that when you don't get enough sleep, tossing and turning about the cost of daycare or car insurance, your eyes get dark circles and your skin may look gray or splotchy. Just like sleep is essential to a healthy beauty regime, de-stressing is a step that should be added to your routine in order to keep putting your absolute best face forward.

Try deep breathing before bed to increase circulation and calm your body down. Close your eyes, breathe soothing lavender for added aromatherapy benefits, and take deep, slow breaths. Feel your shoulders and back release their tension, feel your jaw loosen, and let your muscles rest. Relaxing yourself at least once a day will not only be good for your physical well-being, but will also keep that youthful radiance and beauty in your skin. The more stress you can eliminate, the easier you'll sleep and the healthier you'll look and feel.

How To Get Lower Prices For Your Clothes

Filed in archive Fashion Tips , Personal Style on August 17, 2010

The thing to remember when buying clothes is that it is really a buyer's market right now. You only have to make sure that your strategy suits the type of store you are buying your clothes from.

For example, if you are in a discount store like Target or Kohl's, tell them what their competition is doing for their customers. This means collecting price data from other retailers, including those that sell clothes online. Or call Frucall for comparison service at 888-363-7822.

If you are at a single-brand store like Gap or New York & Company, you'll have to exert a bit of an effort. Visit the store once to find something you like. Go back about a week later and use the fact that what you're buying has been on the rack too long. The best time to visit a clothing store is on a weekday morning.

That way, there are fewer customers so the sales person or manager has more time to negotiate with you. Always start your negotiation at 10 to 15 percent lower than the lowest price you have already found.

Re-work the clothes you have to express yourself

Heading back to school but don't have the money for a new wardrobe? Here are some tips to spruce up your outfits.

Being cool and trendy is all about personal style, not just about wearing the latest fashion. If you can't spring for a new outfit, make a new one from what you already have by being adventurous. Take two t-shirts and cut them down the side seam and around the collar. Then, take the front from one and the back from another and re-stitch. Two new t-shirts in mixed colors or patterns with very little work.

Using fabric glue, you can attach beads or crystals to a pair of jeans, or the back of a jacket. Make a picture out of multi-colored beads or just an unusual design. You can also use fabric ink and paint to paint a scene on a blouse or pair of shorts.

If these ideas don't grab you, why not buy some fabulous accessories in the sale or clearance section of your local stores and spruce up your outfits? You will know you have hit on a fashion trend when your friends ask where you bought your new cloths.
