Venus Williams’ Lace Tennis Dress

Venus Williams' Lace Tennis Dress

The lace industry cheered when Venus Williams stepped into a French Open court in a see-through black lace dress with a red-trimmed top.

Reminiscent of a 19th-century Parisian cancan chorus costume, her corsetlike outfit surprised many sports fans and prompted wolf whistles and catcalls. However, fashion insiders and lace designers that William's outfit might boost their department.

However, everyone should enjoy the said outfit while it lasts. Williams was quoted saying that once she leaves the French Open, the dress will be retired. Venus Williams designed the said dress herself:

"Lace has never been done before in tennis, and I've been wanting to do it for a long time."

She defeated Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova during their third round match for the French Open tennis tournament at the Roland Garros stadium on Friday, so I guess we can say that the dress isn't bad luck.
