What Not To Wear In The Office

What Not To Wear In The Office

There are some jobs that require us to wear suits no matter what time of the year.

On the other hand, there are companies that tend to relax their dress codes a bit during the summer and allow employees to be a bit more expressive in terms of their fashion sense. But there are things that we really should not be wearing to work at all if we are to command respect from your colleagues.

1. Never wear flip-flops to work. There are professional-looking sandals for men and maybe dressier ones for women which are just fine in the workplace. However, flip-flops are by their very nature recreational footwear and are, therefore, unacceptable at work.

2. Don't wear bathing suits at work. This should be obvious. Unless it's a company outing to the beach, the swim suit has no place in the office.

3. Sunglasses must be taken off the minute you step into the office. If they're brand new and you want to show them off, fine. However, after the first time every colleague of yours has seen it, take them off.

4. Tank tops do not belong to the workplace. Be very careful about showing too much skin at work.

5. Don't wear anything that is see-through at work. Anything that allows people to see your skin or undergarments through your clothes is a no-no. Often they create discomfort for your office mates, especially those of the opposite sex.
